Delicate Arch
Delicate Arch was my favorite of all the arches. It was also a long hard walk for an old man. The trail is all up and we were already at 8000 feet. There really is no trail, instead you follow the cairns (little piles of rock) which is positioned on what they call slick rock. It was in the high eighties the day we hiked up and fortunately we brought lots of water. Delicate Arch is a 52' free standing arch and is the most widely recognized arch in the park. It is formed of Entrada Sandstone.
